TENT |
|
Tents are very similar to houses in that they represent
your personal spiritual life or your ministry. The Word says that we are the
temple/house of the Holy Spirit. Seeing a tent speaks about your personal
life or about your personal ministry. |
|
Definition For:
DREAMS
AND VISIONS |
|
POSITIVE
and NEGATIVE...
The Lord has often shown us a vision where we saw a
tent being enlarged. This spoke of an expansion in our ministry. We have
also had dreams where we saw a tent tied down, not being able to move. This
indicated to us that the ministry was being hindered and restricted in some
way. Depending on the condition of the tent that you see, the interpretation
will vary.
If you see a tent with a tear in it, this would speak
of the ministry having being attacked and damaged and that there needs to come
healing and restoration.
Speaking of blessing in your ministry and life:
Isaiah 54:2
"Enlarge the place of your tent, and let them stretch
forth the curtains of your habitations: spare not, lengthen your cords, and
strengthen your stakes;
3 For you shall break forth on the right hand and on
the left; and your seed shall inherit the Gentiles, and make the desolate
cities to be inhabited." (GMR)
A tent can also refer to your personal life, revolving
around your work or business. Tent making for example was a trade and
symbolizes business, enterprise and work.
Acts 18:3
"And because he was of
the same craft, he abode with them, and wrought: for by their occupation
they were tentmakers." (GMR)

TREES |
|
Trees have various interpretations and they are very
common in scripture. If you look at the dream Nebuchadnezzar had, you will
see how he and his kingdom were illustrated as a tree in his dream. A tree
speaks of strength and also of generations.
Daniel 4:20
"The tree that you saw, which
grew, and was strong, whose height reached into the heavens, and the sight
of it to all the earth;
21 Whose leaves [were] beautiful, and the fruit
abundant, and in it [was] food for all; under which the beasts of the field
dwelt, and upon whose branches the fowls of the heaven had their habitation:
22 It [is] you, O king, that has grown and become
strong: for your greatness has grown, and reaches into the heavens, and your
dominion to the ends of the earth." (GMR)
|
|
Definition For:
DREAMS |
|
POSITIVE...
Trees can represent being rooted and strong. You might
dream of a tree that is immovable. This would have a good connotation as it
is saying that you cannot be moved. When a trees roots are down you cannot
pluck it up! Trees also speak of being covered. They not only provide shade,
but they protect you also. So if you were to dream of coming under the shade
or being protected by a tree, this would speak of coming under covering. In
the case of a wife, the covering would be her husband, but this can also
refer to the ministry covering of your mentor or spiritual father
Speaking
of coming under covering:
Judges
9:15 "The thornbush said to the trees, 'If you really want to anoint me king
over you, come and take refuge in my shade; but if not, then let fire come
out of the thornbush and consume the cedars of Lebanon!'(NIV)
NEGATIVE...
It is common for me to receive many dreams where
various trees and branches in a dream refer to family generations. A Branch
in scripture was often used to illustrate the various tribes and families in
Israel. This is the most common interpretation in dreams. You might dream
that a tree’s branches fall off or that some creature is on the tree. You
might see a tree whose root has gone rotten. In each case, it would
represent your family generations and the curses that have been passed down
to you.
Speaking of generational curses:
Hosea 11:6
"And the
sword shall abide on his cities, and shall consume his branches, and devour
[them], because of their own counsels.
7 And my people are bent to backsliding from me:
though they called them to the most High, none at all would exalt [him]." (GMR)
|
|
Definition For:
VISIONS |
POSITIVE...
The Lord has often used a tree to illustrate Les
D. Crause and
GMRN. I remember when the ministry first started out and we saw saplings. We were yet
growing! Then from time to time we would see this large tree that became
immovable. Soon this tree reproduced and many more trees began to rest under
its branches. Further we would see various nations gather under these
branches.
What the Lord was saying is that the ministry (GMRN)
which Les D. Crause had founded would remain and be strong. That as he poured
into others that they would also rise up and become immovable until the
whole earth was filled with the glory of God and His people who stood firm!
A lovely illustration of this can e found in:
Jeremiah 17:7
"Blessed [is]
the man that trusts in the LORD [Yahweh], and whose hope the LORD [Yahweh]
is.
8 For he shall be as a tree planted by the
waters, and [that] spreads out her roots by the river, and shall not see
when heat comes, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in
the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit." (GMR)
NEGATIVE...
Just as in dreams, branches and roots can have negative
interpretations. When I have been in personal ministry and have seen a dark root
in a person, I know that the Lord wants me to address a root of bitterness
they have in their lives. You can find reference to the root of bitterness
in:
Hebrews 12:15 "Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of
God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble [you], and by
it many be defiled;" (GMR)
Sometimes when we have prayed with divorced individuals,
we are led to break ties with the previous spouse. We often see the link
with that spouse as a branch grafted into them. As we pray we remove that
branch and heal the wound. In cases where the divorcee has now remarried, we
then ask the Lord that He would graft the ‘new branch’ in where the old one
had been. You can see this illustrated well in scripture:
Romans 11:24
"For if you were cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature,
and were graffed contrary to nature into a good olive tree: how much
more shall these, which be the natural [branches], be graffed into their own
olive tree?" (GMR)

UNCLE |
|
Definition For:
DREAMS |
|
You cannot make a hard and fast rule concerning family
and friends in dreams. You would usually dream of an uncle or an aunt in an
internal dream and then they would be a representation of a part of
yourself. So identify what your uncle means to you in real life. When you
think of him, what comes to mind?
I remember when Craig and I were in South Africa, Les
Crause and the rest of the family having gone ahead to Mexico. We felt very
isolated at that time as we faced our prophetic preparation. We faced death
after death and at times the only thing that kept us sane was my uncle who
was still in South Africa. He would spend time in the word with us and we
would spend many visits speaking of the Lord and what the future held for us
all. For that season he was our mentor and instructor.
So when I dream of him, I know that the Lord is
speaking of my prophetic ministry. Because at that time I was facing
prophetic preparation and he helped me through it. So identify for yourself
what your uncle could speak of in your dreams.
|
|
Definition For:
VISIONS |
|
It is also common to see an uncle or aunt in personal
ministry when dealing with generational curses or past hurts. At times when
I have ministered to someone with regards to an absent father I might see an
uncle in the spirit that filled that role. Be sensitive to the spirit and
share what you are seeing with the person you are ministering with. The Lord
will not give you a revelation without confirming it! |

UMBILICAL CORD |
|
Definition For:
DREAMS |
|
In the natural
an umbilical cord speaks of those things that feed you.
Depending on what you are receiving, this will be a positive or
a negative picture. |
|
POSITIVE...
Assess the spirit in your dream. If it is positive then the cord could
speak of generational blessing.
NEGATIVE...
If the cord is negative, then it speaks of generational cursing. |
|
Definition For:
VISIONS |
|
POSITIVE and NEGATIVE...
I see umbilical cords often when ministering to others. It usually has a
negative connotation rather than a positive one because the things we
receive from our generations is often negative due to the sinful nature of
man. An umbilical cord speaks of strength in the scripture. It can speak of
the strength of the Lord, or of the strength of the enemy in their lives.
Speaking of strength:
Job 40:16 "Lo now, his
strength [is] in his loins, and his force [is] in the navel of
his belly." (GMR)
Speaking of receiving blessing
from the Lord:
Proverbs 3:8 "It will be
health to your navel, and marrow to your bones." (GMR)
The Word also speaks of the Lord
having taken Israel as His child:
Ezekiel 16:4 "And [as for]
your nativity, in the day you were born your navel was not
cut, neither were you washed in water to supple [you]; you
were not salted at all, nor swaddled at all.
5 None eye pitied you, to do any of these to you, to have
compassion upon you; but you were cast out in the open field,
to the loathing of your person, in the day that you were born.
6 And when I passed by you, and saw you polluted in your
own blood, I said to you [when you were] in your blood, Live;
yes, I said to you [when you were] in your blood, Live.
7 I have caused you to multiply as the bud of the field,
and you have increased and become great, and you are come to
excellent ornaments: [your] breasts are fashioned, and your
hair is grown, whereas you [were] naked and bare." (GMR)
In the New Testament we are known
as the children of Christ. The scriptures say that the Lord is
the vine and we are the branches. He feeds into us His blessing
and anointing. But if you are receiving things that do not
originate with Him, then the “spiritual umbilical cord” you are
receiving from is not of God and needs to be severed. |

VEHICLES |
|
There are many
kinds of vehicles in both dreams and visions. I will share the
most common here and perhaps you can relate the vehicle you saw
to one of these. In internal prophetic and
external dreams, vehicles most often refer to your ministry.
In a vision a vehicle may speak of an actual vehicle, but once
again it usually speaks of a type of ministry or ministry
function. |
|
Definition For:
DREAMS
AND VISIONS |
|
CAR...
Cars are by far the most common vehicle in dreams. In
an internal dream, you might dream of an old car you once owned or even of a
car you desire to own. A car from the past could either represent the
circumstances surrounding that time of your life or it may refer to your
‘old ministry functions’ that you flowed in during that time of your life.
I remember a lady who shared once concerning a dream
where she dreamed that she was trying to drive the car she had when she
first got saved. The car was old and broken, but she was being pressured to
drive it. The interpretation was clear. She was being pressured to function
in a ministry and spiritual capacity she had functioned in, in the past. But
she had moved on since then and it was not appropriate any longer. It was
time for her to move on again.
I often dream of cars. I might dream that
I received a bigger or faster car. This meant that the Lord was going to
lead me into a different type of ministry that had a bigger realm of
influence than before and that this would be a fast move for me. I have also had
a dream where someone else was driving my car. Depending on the character
driving your car, the interpretation could vary.
Your father or husband driving your car could mean that
the Lord or that the Lord Jesus is in control of your ministry (depending on
your relationship with your father or husband). This would have a good
connotation.
Someone driving your car that represents the flesh,
pride or the world system would have a negative
connotation. This would mean that something other than the Lord is in
control of your ministry and spiritual life!
Driving the car yourself could be good, speaking of
being in control and going the right direction.
Different cars in your dream could represent different
ministries, having your car stolen, taken over or stopped, speaks of your
ministry being taken from you. This does not have a good connotation.
Now that you have a general idea, allow the Holy Spirit
to define your dream for you.
BICYCLE or
MOTORBIKE...
A bicycle speaks of a personal small ministry. I often
dreamt of trading my car for a bicycle or motorbike. This does not
necessarily have a bad connotation; it simply denotes a change of emphasis
in ministry. I will often see this in personal ministry as well. The Lord
telling someone that they will be traveling alone for a while in personal
ministry.
BOAT or SHIP...
A boat also speaks of ministry, but to your ministry
group or church and not just a representation of you. When I see a boat or
ship in vision it represents GMRN as a whole. I seldom see it as pertaining
to my personal ministry, but rather to my corporate ministry involving my
ministry team members. So if I see a ship in dry docks, it means that things
have dried up and that the Holy Spirit has not been given license in this
ministry.
A large battleship represents a ministry involved in
warfare and attack. I remember once the Lord showing us that our ‘ship’ had
been transformed to a battleship. The message was clear, we were being led
into circumstances that required continual warfare and battle against the
enemy. This did come to pass and we faced a season of continual warfare.
Yet again we saw that same ship being transformed to a
cruise ship. The Lord let us know that a new season was coming of rest and
of peace. This also came to pass.
There have been other times when we saw the ship in
harbor taking on supplies. The Lord told us that this would be a season of
not making any major moves, but of waiting in His presence to be filled up
and prepared.
Depending on the size of the boat, its surroundings and
its condition will give you a good idea of what the Lord is saying to you at
this time with regards to the size, function and season of your ministry.
AIRPLANE, HELICOPTER or
JET...
These also refer to a type of ministry. An airplane has
many functions. A fighter jet speaks of warfare and is prophetic in nature
in that it surveys the land and routes out the enemy. I have often seen all
my team members as a fighter plane, flying in formation. Each one having a
place, each one being a powerful tool in the hand of the Lord.
TRAIN...
A train is fast-moving and needs a track to run on. I
have often seen the Lord put a track in front of a person to follow. He was
saying that He had laid things out very specifically for them and that they
simply had to follow that track!
You might see yourself laying down the track, which
would mean that you are blazing a new trail and laying a new foundation.
This could represent an apostolic function, of laying a new foundation for
others to follow.
Let’s take a quick look into the Word to see how
various vehicles represent our modern day equivalent:
A Chariot would be the modern day equivalent of
a car, airplane or fighter plane:
Psalms 20:7
"Some [trust] in chariots,
and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the LORD [Yahweh] our
God." (GMR)
Horses also represent
cars in scripture:
Isaiah 66:20
"And they shall bring all your brothers [for] an offering to the
LORD [Yahweh] out of all nations upon horses, and in chariots, and in
litters, and upon mules, and upon swift beasts, to my holy mountain
Jerusalem, says the LORD [Yahweh], as the children of Israel bring an
offering in a clean vessel into the house of the LORD [Yahweh]." (GMR)
Ezekiel 39:20
"Thus you shall be filled at my table
with horses and chariots, with mighty men, and with all men of war,
says the Lord GOD." (GMR)
Boats
or Ships
Matthew 13:2
"And great crowds had gathered together
for him, so that he went into a ship, and sat; and the whole
multitude stood on the shore." (GMR)

VINE |
|
A vine is very similar to seeing a tree in a dream or
vision. It can either speak of blessing and prosperity or of a curse. You
would need to sense the spirit on the dream or vision and interpret
accordingly. |
|
Definition For:
DREAMS
AND VISIONS |
|
POSITIVE...
A vine speaks of the blessing of the Lord. Whenever the
Lord gave a promise in the Word, He would promise to give each man a vine.
He also refers to Himself as the vine and us as the branches. It speaks of
the blessing of the Lord. Spiritual blessings and natural blessings!
John 15:5
"I am the vine, you [are] the
branches: He that abides in me, and I in him, is the one that brings forth
much fruit: for without me you can do nothing." (GMR)
Speaking of blessing:
Joel 2:21
"Fear not, O land; be
glad and rejoice: for the LORD [Yahweh] will do great things.
22 Be not afraid, you beasts of the field: for the
pastures of the wilderness spring, for the tree bears her fruit, the fig
tree and the vine yield their strength." (GMR)
Zechariah 8:12
"For the seed [shall be] prosperous;
the vine shall give her fruit, and the ground shall give her increase, and
the heavens shall give their dew; and I will cause the remnant of this
people to possess all these [things]." (GMR)
NEGATIVE...
You can get a vine that does not bear fruit or that is
wicked. This would refer to not going on with the Lord or even a curse. A
vine that does not bear fruit speaks of being lukewarm and not obedient to
God’s word. According to scripture, such a vine would be cast into the
fire.
Speaking of judgment:
Luke 3:9
"And now also the axe
is laid to the root of the trees: every tree therefore which brings
not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire." (GMR)
Ezekiel 15:6
"Therefore thus says the Lord GOD; As
the vine tree among the trees of the forest, which I have given to
the fire for fuel, so will I give the inhabitants of Jerusalem." (GMR)

WALL |
|
A wall can be
both positive and negative. You need to discern the context of
your dream or vision to get the full revelation. |
|
Definition For:
DREAMS |
|
It is very common to dream of your wife. Depending on
your relationship with her, you will interpret what she represents differently. |
NEGATIVE...
There are those walls that we build around
themselves for protection.
|
|
Definition For:
VISIONS |
POSITIVE...
The scriptures speak of the angel of the
Lord encamping around us. In this context a wall speaks of protection and
security. The Word also speaks of the Lord being a tower. Once again this
symbolizes protection and strength. I often see the Lord placing a wall of
protection around a person and when I speak blessing, this is one of the
blessings I like to pray. I see a large wall surrounding the person as a
fence and not allowing anything harmful to come to them.
There is also the wall that
surrounds a city that the watchman stands on. This wall refers
to the position of the prophet who watches out for the children
of God and is also a form of defense and protection against any
work of the enemy. The Lord has often shown me His watchmen upon
the walls watching and speaking forth His decree.
In fact I put this very concept
into action when I founded the
Network Indestructible, setting up a ‘prayer wall’ where
prophets from all over the world would take a time to stand on
the wall (spiritually speaking) to watch out for attack and also
to cover their fellow members, GMRN and the church in prayer. A
lot of revelation and words of decree continue to come through
the prophets that remain vigilant on that wall!
Speaking of the Lord’s protection and strength:
Psalms 18:2 "The LORD
[Yahweh] [is] my rock, and my fortress, and my
deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my
buckler, and the horn of my salvation, [and] my high tower."
(GMR)
Isaiah 25:4 "For you have
been a strength to the poor, a strength to the needy in his
distress, a refuge from the storm, a shadow from the heat,
when the blast of the terrible ones [is] as a storm [against]
the wall." (GMR)
Speaking of the Watchman on the wall:
Isaiah 21:5 "Prepare the table, watch in the
watchtower, eat, drink: arise, you princes, [and]
anoint the shield.
6 For thus
has the Lord said to me, Go, set a watchman, let him
declare what he sees." (GMR)
NEGATIVE...
A wall can also speak of an obstacle. Many times I have seen
someone come up against a wall in their lives or ministry. At
times I have even been released of the Lord to put a wall in
someone’s path to prevent them from going in the direction they
are going in. This is a prophetic office function though, so I
do not encourage anyone to speak such words unless they are
released to do so from the Lord and stand fully in prophetic or
apostolic office.
Speaking of putting someone “between two walls”:
Numbers 22:24 "But the angel
of the LORD [Yahweh] stood in a path of the vineyards, a
wall [being] on this side, and a wall on that
side." (GMR)
Speaking of a wall as an obstacle:
Hosea 2:6 "Therefore, behold,
I will hedge up your way with thorns, and make a wall,
that she shall not find her paths." (GMR)

WIFE |
|
Definition For:
DREAMS |
|
It is very common to dream of your wife. Depending on
your relationship with her, you will interpret what she represents differently. |
|
POSITIVE...
Most commonly your wife would represent your recreated
spirit in Christ. You might have a dream that your wife is trying to speak
to you, but you cannot hear her. This would mean that your spirit is trying
to get a message to you, but something is blocking it. You might dream that
your wife is driving your car and leading you on a new or old road. This
would mean that you are being led by your spirit to go a different
direction.
You might dream that your wife gives you a gift. This
would mean that there is a new spiritual gift that the Lord has for you.
Depending on the gift, the interpretation of what that gift is will vary.
Your relationship with your wife could also represent
your relationship with the Lord. You might dream that you are having an
affair and your wife finds out and is upset. This would mean that you are
allowing things of the world to seduce you and draw you away from the Lord
and what you know is the direction of God for your life.
NEGATIVE...
An ex-wife that you divorced on bad terms might refer
to your flesh. She might speak of your pride, your failure or your
weaknesses. Ask yourself: What comes to my mind when I think of my wife or
ex-wife? The first impression you have of her will likely reflect what part
of yourself she represents in an internal dream.
If your wife has a negative connotation for you,
dreaming of her driving your car would have a negative connotation! This
would mean that your flesh is in control of your ministry.
|
|
Definition For:
VISIONS |
POSITIVE...
In scripture we are referred to as the Bride of Christ.
So if you were to see a bride in vision, she would represent the church. See
‘Woman’ for more on this.
Revelation 21:2
"And I John saw the holy city, new
Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned
for her husband." (GMR)
Illustration our intimate relationship with the Lord
Jesus as His bride:
Song of Solomon 4:11
"Your lips, O [my] bride,
drop [as] the honeycomb: honey and milk [are] under your tongue; and the
fragrance of your garments [is] like the smell of Lebanon." (GMR)

|
WOMAN |
|
Definition For:
DREAMS |
|
POSITIVE...
You may at times dream of a woman that is familiar in
your dreams, but in reality you do not know them. As I teach in The Way of
Dreams and Visions a familiar feminine character in your dreams often
represents your animus – your feminine side. This side is artistic,
creative, prophetic and totally allegorical.
In a positive dream you might dream that you are
embracing this lady. Some men who have shared such dreams with me felt
guilty that they were embracing this women in their dreams, but the dream
was actually positive because it meant that the Lord was leading them into a
more prophetic orientation.
This also applies to a women. As a woman you might
dream that you are befriending this women character in your dream. Perhaps
even embracing her. This does NOT mean that you have homosexual tendencies.
It means simply that you are moving more towards a prophetic orientation.
I had a case where a man dreamt that he had a sex
reversal and was changed to a woman. The interpretation was that the Lord
was leading him out of his analytical masculine thinking and into an
allegorical, prophetic orientation. This confirmed a recent direction the
Lord had given him with regards to his calling.
NEGATIVE...
Depending on how you are responding to this feminine
character in your dream, she could mean different things. If you are ignoring
her, it could mean that you have been ignoring your prophetic or feminine side and the
Lord wants you to get back to it. Perhaps in your dream she is being killed,
which could mean that the Lord is brining the prophetic in you to death so
that you can move on to the masculine, teaching orientation. You must
identify what you sensed in the dream and what witnesses in your spirit.
|
|
Definition For:
VISIONS |
POSITIVE...
Depending on the context of your vision, seeing a woman
will have a different meaning. If it is a woman you know, then the vision
relates to her. If it is a woman you do not know she could represent
something else. A pregnant woman refers to something new that is about to be
birthed. Depending on the direction of your prayer at the time, the birth
could refer to the ministry, church or person you were praying for.
If she refers to the church as a whole, consider:
Revelation 12:1
"And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman
clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown
of twelve stars:
2 And she being with child cried, travailing in
birth, and pained to be delivered." (KJV)
Of course seeing a bride speaks of the bride of Christ.
Depending on how you see her, will give you the full interpretation. A bride
standing in splendor would speak of the plan the Lord has for His church. A
bride whose garments are tattered speaks of the church being in a state of
disarray and needing mending.
Revelation 21:9
"And there came unto me one of the
seven angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and
talked with me, saying, Come hither, I will shew thee the bride, the
Lamb's wife." (KJV)
NEGATIVE...
A woman dressed in scarlet has a negative connotation
according to:
Revelation 17:4 "And the woman was arrayed in purple and
scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having
a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her
fornication:
5 And upon her forehead [was] a name written,
MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE
EARTH.
6 And I saw the woman drunken with the blood
of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw
her, I wondered with great admiration." (KJV)
