PERFUME |
|
Perfume, oil, myrrh and incense often share the same
interpretations. Some common interpretations of perfume are: Our praise to
the Lord, being beautified, being prepared, being honored, being cleansed.
Perfume changes your emotions and causes you to be
drawn to it. It can be a pleasant experience, or it can speak of being
caught in a rap.
Referring to how perfume lifts the emotions:
Proverbs 27:9
"Ointment and perfume rejoice the heart: so [does] the
sweetness of a man's friend by hearty counsel." (GMR)

POSITIVE...
A bride was prepared with oils and perfume to prepare
her for her wedding night. Esther is a good example of this. This speaks of
the Bride of Christ being prepared and made ready for Her groom. It speaks
of her falling in love with her groom – which is Jesus Christ.
The scriptures also speak of our praise being as
incense before the Lord. That it is a pleasing smell before Him. Incense was
offered before the Lord 24 hours a day under the Old Covenant. Our incense
is our praise and worship.
Speaking of the love of Bride and Groom:
Song of
Solomon 4:10 "How beautiful is your love, my beloved, [my] bride! how much
better is your love than wine! and the fragrance of your perfume than
all spices!" (GMR)
Speaking of our sacrifice being a sweet smell to the
Lord:
Philippians 4:18
"But I have all, and abound: I am full, having
received of Epaphroditus the things [which were sent] from you, an odour of
a sweet smell, a sacrifice acceptable, wellpleasing to God." (GMR)
Referring to our prayers going up to God:
Revelation
8:4 "And the smoke of the incense, [which came] with the prayers of
the saints, ascended up before God out of the angel's hand." (GMR)
NEGATIVE...
The scripture also speaks of the perfume of the harlot
and adulteress. It speaks of being captured and seduced into the things of
the world. Of being deceived into thinking that you are being offered
something good, when in fact it is false and full of sin.
Speaking of the harlot (world) that seduces. A love
that is false and empty:
Proverbs 7:17
"I have perfumed my bed with
myrrh, aloes, and cinnamon.
18 Come, let us take our fill of love until the
morning: let us solace ourselves with loves.
19 For the man of the house [is] not at home, he has
gone on a long journey:
20 He has taken a bag of money with him, [and] will
come home at the appointed day.
21 With her much fair speech she caused him to
yield; with the flattering of her lips she forced him.
22 He goes after her immediately as an ox goes to
the slaughter, or as a fool to the correction of the stocks;" (GMR)

PURPLE |

Definition For:

POSITIVE...
In scripture purple always has a positive connotation. It speaks of
royalty of wealth and prosperity. In the Old Testament only the wealthy
could afford purple clothing. So it was worn by kings and those of good
repute. If you sold or imported purple cloth, then you were considered a
wealthy merchant. Purple was also used in the tabernacle, representing the
deity of the Lord. His royalty and Kingship.
Speaking of Royalty:
Esther
8:15 "And Mordecai went out from the presence of the king in royal apparel of
blue and white, and with a great crown of gold, and with a garment of fine linen
and purple: and the city of Shushan rejoiced and was glad." (GMR)
Judges 8:26 "And the weight
of the golden earrings that he requested was a thousand and seven hundred
[shekels] of gold; beside ornaments, and collars, and purple raiment that
[was] on the kings of Midian, and beside the chains that [were] about their
camels' necks." (GMR)
Speaking of wealth:
Ezekiel
27:16 "Syria [was] your merchant by reason of the multitude of the wares of your
making: they occupied in your fairs with emeralds, purple, and embroidered work,
and fine linen, and coral, and agate." (GMR)
Luke
16:19 "There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple
and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day:" (GMR)
NEGATIVE...
Purple as in the case of blue can speak of
bruising and hurts. See Blue for a full explanation.

QUEEN |
|
Definition For:

POSITIVE...
A queen speaks of royalty and of favor. As believers we
are all kings and queens in the Lord. It speaks of our position and
authority in Christ. It also speaks of the blessing and favor we have with
the Lord because of this position. Of course a lovely illustration of this
is Queen Esther, who I often seen in the spirit when ministering to a woman.
When I see this, then I know that the Lord is saying
that this person should see herself as a queen and to lift up her head and
act like a queen, instead of groveling like a beggar!
Queen Esther:
Esther 2:17
"And the king loved Esther
above all the women, and she obtained grace and favor in his sight more
than all the virgins; so that he set the royal crown upon her head, and made
her queen instead of Vashti." (GMR)

RED |
|
Red can be both positive and
negative. It can refer to blood, destruction and fire. Yet it can also speak of
rubies, wealth and royalty (scarlet). |

POSITIVE...
Red is referred to as scarlet in scripture and it has a positive
connotation of wealth and favor. It also speaks of redemption and of being
rescued.
When
praying for physical healing the Lord has often shown us the organ of the
person that has been infected as either black or purple. As we pray we see
it go red in the spirit. When we see that we know that healing has taken
place. Consider the following passages...
Speaking of rescue:
Joshua 2:18
"Look, [when] we come into the land, you must bind this line of scarlet thread in
the window which you let us down by: and you must bring your father, and your
mother, and your brothers, and all your father's household, home to you." (GMR)
Speaking of wealth:
Proverbs
31:21 "She is not afraid of the snow for her family: for all her family [are]
clothed with scarlet." (GMR)
Speaking of redemption:
1 John
1:7 "But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one
with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanses us from all sin." (GMR)
NEGATIVE...
Red can speak of blood, sin and
destruction. Consider the following verses:
Speaking of sin:
Isaiah 1:18
"Come now, and let us reason together, says the LORD [Yahweh]: though your sins
be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson,
they shall be as wool." (GMR)
Speaking of destruction:
Nahum
2:3 "The shield of his mighty men is made red, the valiant men [are] in scarlet:
the chariots [shall be] with flaming torches in the day of his preparation, and
the fir trees shall be terribly shaken." (GMR)

POSITIVE
and NEGATIVE...
It is important that you identify what
kind of relationship you have with your sister or brother. When you think of
your sister or brother what is the first thing that comes to your mind to
describe them? What about them stands out the most? Perhaps your sister is
willful – she could speak of your will. Maybe she is insecure, in which case
she would speak of insecurity. Perhaps your brother is highly intellectual,
then he would likely speak of your intellect. Maybe your brother was the
kind of person that always protected you – in this case he could speak of
the Holy Spirit in your dreams.

POSITIVE
and NEGATIVE...
When I see someone’s sibling during ministry, the Lord is usually
wanting to address an issue. Often the Lord indicates that the person needs
to break links with their sibling, other times a healing needs to be spoken
forth. The Lord will give you an inner knowing or impression to go along
with the vision, so remain sensitive to the spirit and you will be able to
understand exactly what the Lord wants you to do with the revelation He gave
you.
Speaking of breaking links with
family:
Luke 14:26 "If any [man] come
to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and
children, and brothers, and sisters, yes, and his own [psuche]
life also, he cannot be my disciple." (GMR)
Speaking of the family of Christ:
Matthew 12:50 "For whoever
shall do the will of my Father who is in heaven, that person
is my brother, and sister, and mother." (GMR)

SILVER |
|
Definition For:
DREAMS
AND VISIONS |

POSITIVE...
Silver speaks of redemption in scripture. To redeem (purchase) a slave
would cost 30 pieces of silver. Silver also speaks of the wealth of the
world. The riches of man. It was the common currency used in the times of
the New and Old Testament.
I
remember a time when Apostle Les D. Crause shared with me how the Lord had
given him a large silver key in the spirit, telling him that he was to
release the wealth of the world to the church. The following passage
confirms this vision:
Job
27:16 Though he heap up silver as the dust, and prepare clothing as the
clay;
17 He may prepare [it], but the just shall put [it] on, and the innocent
shall divide the silver.(GMR)
Speaking
of our redemption:
1 Peter
1:18 "For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver
or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you
from your forefathers,
19 but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or
defect." (NIV)
NEGATIVE...
Silver
can also speak of the deceitfulness of riches, relating to money and man's
desire for money over the Lord.
Luke
16:13 No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and
love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. You
cannot serve God and mammon.(GMR)
Judas
betrayed the Lord for thirty pieces of silver:
Matthew 26:15
"And said [to them], What will you
give me, and I will deliver him to you? And they covenanted with him for thirty
pieces of silver." (GMR).

SNAKE
/ Serpent |

NEGATIVE...
Snakes never have a positive connotation in dreams and
visions. In my personal experience and in looking at the word, the snake
speaks of deception. In personal ministry I have often seen a serpent wound
around the head of a person, speaking lies into their ears. I expose it and
tell it to leave. It also allows me to minister effectively, because then I
can encourage the person and tell them that the enemy has been lying to them
and that they do not have to listen to his lies any longer!
I have seen various kinds of snakes in the spirit. I
have seen small snakes, which are more a hindrance than anything serious.
They usually come in through association and by reading materials that
contain a curse. Depending on the size of the snake in my dream or vision,
depends on the strength of the demon.
I remember once stumbling onto a site that
concentrated on interpreting scripture into present day experiences. They
had taken the Word and had broken it down according to the current events
and events of history. The site seemed innocent enough, even though I did
feel a bit of oppression on it. Soon thereafter everything seemed to go
wrong in my life. I felt as if a heavy cloud had come on my head and I found
myself getting into conflict with my family and everything I touched seemed
to break!
When I asked for prayer, Les
Crause saw a serpent attacking
me. As I had browsed that site I had opened my heart to the articles there
and actually invited a curse into my life! I had received a spirit of
deception, but as I repented and closed that door, I told the enemy to loose
his hold and the dark cloud around my head lifted immediately!
There was another time in our ministry where I kept
seeing a python in the spirit. Others associated with us saw the same thing
and although we knew a snake represented deception, we needed clarification.
It was then that Les said that there was actually a ‘spirit of python’ in
the Word. When we looked it up, that specific passage referred to
divination. It was very apt to what was going on in the ministry at that
time because the enemy had sent many false prophets to bring strife and
conflict in our midst. As we came against that spirit, things immediately
calmed down and those operating in the spirit of divination suddenly left
and things calmed down again.
Here is the reference to the ‘spirit of python’ in the
greek and the corresponding passage:

from Putho (the name of the region where Delphi, the
seat of the famous oracle, was located); TDNT - 6:917,*; n m
AV - divination 1; 1
1) in Greek mythology the name of the Pythian serpent
or dragon that dwelt in the region of Pytho at the foot of Parnassus in
Phocis, and was said to have guarded the oracle at Delphi and been slain by
Apollo
2) A spirit of divination
Acts 16:16
"And it came to pass, as we went to prayer, a
certain damsel possessed with a spirit of divination met us, which
brought her masters much gain by soothsaying:" (GMR)

- Lies and deception:
Genesis 3:13
"And the LORD
[Yahweh] God said to the woman, What [is] this [that] you have done? And the
woman said, The serpent deceived me, and I ate." (GMR)
Speaking of
Satan the deceiver:
Revelation
"12:9 And
the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil,
and Satan, who deceives the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and
his angels were cast out with him." (GMR)

Definition For:
VISIONS |
POSITIVE...
Depending on the staff that you see in the spirit, you
will get a different interpretation. When you see the shepherds staff, this
refers to either the Great Shepherd (being Jesus) but most often it is a
representation of the pastoral ministry. If I see a shepherd’s staff in
personal ministry then I know that the Lord has called this person to the
pastoral ministry. Here is an example from scripture:
Psalms 23:4 "Even
though I pass through the narrow valley overshadowed by death, I will not be
afraid of wickedness: because you [are] with me; your club and your
[shepherd] staff, they [convict and] comfort me." (GMR)
You also get a rod in scripture. It is sometimes a long
rod without any shape. When I see this I know that the Lord is referring to
the rod that breaks the foundation. In the old days before modern technology,
they would break an old foundation using a rod. This is an apostolic
function and it involves discipline, smashing old mindsets and templates.
Paul speaks of this rod confirming his apostolic authority in:
1
Corinthians 4:21 "What do you want? shall I come to you with a rod, or
in [agape] love, and [in] the spirit of meekness?" (GMR)
Further confirming the rod to be symbolic of the
apostolic ministry, Moses carried such a rod which the Lord used to do the
many signs and wonders. God speaking to Moses:
Exodus 4:17
"And you shall
take this rod in your hand, with which you shall do signs." (GMR)
You might see a rod that is short and thick. This is
something that the shepherd also used to carry with him and he would use it
against the wolf! This is called a shepherds club in scripture and when I
see this, I know that the Lord is calling this person to a deliverance
type of ministry that deals with attacking the kingdom of darkness to
protect the people pf God.
