DREAMS |
NEGATIVE...
In interpreting a cage in an internal dream, I would
not see a positive connotation to it unless your enemies were in that cage!
In dreaming that you are in a cage or being held captive, it would represent
your lack of freedom.
This would indicate that you are bound either by your
circumstance, by your past or by some kind of oppression. The enemy keeps
you in bondage while the Lord gives freedom. The mind can often be a cage in
that it restricts you. Your analytical mind could be stopping your progress.
A cage also represents fear, which could indicate your being bound by a fear
of the past that has been exposed again in your life.
In personal experience I have seen people in cages and
the Lord has told me that they have put themselves in the cage. One such
case was a woman who had a fear of opening herself up to the Lord. I saw her
in a cage and the Lord being able to only pass small objects through it to
her. The interpretation was that because she had closed off her heart to the
Lord out of fear, He could only give her small blessings because of the
restriction she had put on herself.

Definition For:
VISIONS |
NEGATIVE...
I could not find a positive connotation for a cage in
scripture either. A cage in an external dream or vision speaks of the deceit
and devices of the enemy. It is a warning of a trap that has been set, or it
is a word of knowledge that the person you are ministering to is in bondage.
Jeremiah 5:26
"For among my people are found wicked
[men]: they lay wait, as he that sets snares; they set a trap, they catch
men.
27 As a cage is full of birds, so [are] their houses
full of deceit: therefore they are become great, and become rich." (GMR)
It is a place of evil
and a place where the enemy and his evil works abound.
Revelation 18:2
"…and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird." (GMR)

CAKE
/ BREAD |
|
Definition For:
DREAMS |
|
POSITIVE...
A cake speaks of fun, enjoyment and blessing. It speaks of receiving a
gift and something that is enjoyable. I remember once dreaming of walking
into my home and my father had bought me a whole load of different cakes
and bread from a bakery. I can smell them now just thinking about it! It was a good
dream and it spoke of the blessings and the gifts the Lord was giving me.
The different types of cakes, spoke of the different
ways I would minister and the different blessings the Lord would give me.
Not long after this dream the Lord moved me into the teaching ministry,
where as before I was flowing in the prophetic.
NEGATIVE...
“To have your cake and eat it” is a negative saying
that means you being selfish and are trying to impose yourself and also be one better above
your fellow brother or sister. This speaks of strife, contention and
vainglory. Dreaming of a cake that is not fully baked, speaks of being
‘half-baked’ meaning that your commitment is lacking.
Philippians 2:3 "[Let]
nothing [be done] through strife or empty boasting (vainglory); but
in lowliness of mind let each consider others better than themselves."
(GMR)

|
Definition For:
VISIONS |
POSITIVE...
Cake in a vision or external dream speaks of provision.
In the case of this passage below, by giving of her last cake, the widow woman had
provision for the rest of the drought. Perhaps the Lord has led you to give
the last little ‘cake’ or blessing you have away. If this be the case, rejoice,
because it means that the Lord means to prosper you in return! Bread speaks
of your needs being met, while cake speaks of your desires being met.
Bread speaks of the Body of
Christ and of the provision of the Lord.
Provision:
1 Kings 17:13
"And Elijah said to her, Fear not; go
[and] do as you have said: but make me of it a little cake first, and bring
[it] to me, and after make for you and for your son." (GMR)
Matthew 14:19 And he commanded the crowd to sit down on the grass, and took
the five loaves, and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, he blessed,
and broke [them], and gave the loaves to [his] disciples, and the disciples
[gave them] to the crowd.
20 And they all ate, and were full: and they picked up from the fragments
that remained twelve baskets full.(GMR)
Celebration and abundance (Desires met):
1
Chronicles 12:38 All these men of war, that could keep rank, came with a
perfect heart to Hebron, to make David king over all Israel: and all the
rest also of Israel [were] of one heart to make David king.
39 And there they were with David three days, eating and drinking: for their
brothers had prepared for them.
40 Moreover they that were near them, [even] to Issachar and Zebulun and
Naphtali, brought bread on asses, and on camels, and on mules, and on oxen,
[and] meat, meal, cakes of figs, and bunches of raisins, and wine, and oil,
and oxen, and sheep abundantly: for [there was] joy in Israel.(GMR)
Body of
Christ:
1
Corinthians 10:17 For we [being] many are one bread, [and] one body: for we
are all partakers of that one bread.(GMR)
NEGATIVE...
To see a cake that is burnt or
has gone hard on one side,
due to not being turned, has a bad connotation. It speaks of having the
life taken out of you. It also speaks of compromise as in the passage in
Hosea. It speaks of mixing yourself with those things that are not of the
Lord and because of it, your blessing has now become a curse and the enemy
has now stolen and caused destruction to come instead of provision.
Hosea 7:8
"Ephraim, he has mixed himself among the
people; Ephraim is a cake not turned.
9 Strangers have devoured his strength, and he knows
[it] not: yes, gray hairs are here and there upon him, yet he knows not."

CALF |
|
Definition For:
DREAMS |
|
POSITIVE...
A calf in a dream, in a positive context, speaks of a new
birth. Some new blessing or some new gift that is about to be given to you.
It could also speak of a new venture or a new direction you have gone on.
Cattle speak of business and of production, so it could very well relate to
those things you have worked at and are now sowing as a result.
NEGATIVE...
Dreaming of a calf instead of a fully-grown cow could
also indicate immaturity. I interpreted a dream once where the gentleman
dreamed of a young calf coming from the stall and overtaking the fully-grown
calf. The interpretation was that this person had gone ahead of themselves
in their immaturity and instead of going at a steady pace to maturity had
run ahead of what the Lord had been doing in their lives.
|
|
Definition For:
VISIONS |
POSITIVE...
A calf in a vision could have various interpretations.
The first speaking of joy. In scripture the calf is seen as something joyful
and exuberant as in this Psalm
Psalms 29:6
"He makes them also to skip like a calf;
Lebanon and Sirion like a young unicorn." (GMR)
However, calves were also used in sacrifice and
represent the covenant the Lord made with His people. Abraham cut a calf
in two and walked between the pieces and in so doing entered into covenant
with the Lord. Jeremiah speaks of this covenant:
Jeremiah 34:19
"The princes of Judah, and the princes
of Jerusalem, the eunuchs, and the priests, and all the people of the land,
which passed between the parts of the calf;" (GMR)
NEGATIVE...
A calf seen as an idol i.e. the golden calf, has a
very negative connotation. This speaks of idol worship, idolatry and/or
occult activities. It could also speak of those things in the life of a
believer that they have put above the Lord and consider more important than
the Lord and due to that, this ‘calf’ has now become their god.
Exodus 32:4
"And he received [them] at their hand, and
fashioned it with a graving tool, after he had made it a molten calf: and
they said, These [be] your gods, O Israel, which brought you up out of the
land of Egypt." (GMR)

CAMEL
/ Camel's Hair |
|
Definition For:
VISIONS |
POSITIVE...
The camel was responsible for carrying the trade of the
merchants. The camel can speak of a carrier of blessing. I saw once in the
spirit, a fleet of camels carrying precious cargo and blessing. In which the
Lord indicated that he was sending provision from afar and that His blessing
would come from all corners of the globe. This vision was and is being
fulfilled.
Also, in the Old Testament the prophets used to wear
camels hair as clothing as mentioned here in Mark. Camel’s hair was very
uncomfortable and scratchy. Wearing such a piece of clothing spoke of
humility.
Mark 1:6
"And John was clothed with camel's hair, and
with a girdle of a skin about his loins; and he ate locusts and wild honey;" (GMR)
NEGATIVE...
The camel also speaks of a place of stumbling, as
mentioned here in Luke. Jesus also said to the Pharisees that they strained
out a knat, but swallowed a camel. This speaks of those things which are
obvious and also noticeable which should be removed out of your life.
Luke 18:25
"For it is easier for a camel to go through
a needle's eye, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God." (GMR)

CANDLE |
|
Definition For:
DREAMS
AND VISIONS |
POSITIVE...
A Candle speaks of light and the Spirit of the Lord
within you. It speaks of your testimony before the world. The light from
just one candle, can displace all the darkness. The candle represents the
overcoming of evil and the light of Jesus Christ that shines in each
Christian!
Look at the following passages for good examples:
Psalms 18:28
"For you will light my candle: the LORD
[Yahweh] my God will enlighten my darkness." (GMR)
Proverbs 20:27
"The spirit of man [is] the candle of
the LORD [Yahweh], searching all the rooms of the inward man." (GMR)
Matthew 5:15
"Neither do men light a candle, and put
it under a measuring utensil, but on a candlestick; and it gives light to
all that are in the house." (GMR)

DAGGER |
|
Definition For:
DREAMS
AND VISIONS |
|
NEGATIVE...
A dagger very seldom has a
positive picture. It was not by any means an instrument of honor or was ever
put on display. Usually it was hidden from sight and was used in close
combat. It is a deadly weapon that speaks of destruction and violence.
Daggers are known to be used in pagan rituals for sacrifice and even in
scripture it is seen as a weapon of violence.
Proverbs
23:2 "And put a knife to your throat, if you [are] a man given to
appetite." (GMR)
Judges
3:21 "And Ehud put forth his left hand, and took the dagger from his
right thigh, and thrust it into his belly:
22 And the haft also went in after the blade; and the fat closed upon the
blade, so that he could not draw the dagger out of his belly; and the dirt
came out." (GMR)
2 Samuel
20:10 "But Amasa took no heed to the sword that [was] in Joab's hand: so
he smote him with it in the fifth [rib], and shed out his bowels to the
ground, and struck him not again; and he died." (GMR)

DARKNESS |
|
Definition For:
DREAMS
AND VISIONS |
|
NEGATIVE...
Darkness never has a positive
picture as it is the opposite of light – which is the very essence of God!
The scriptures tell us that Satan and his fallen angels (demons) dwell in
darkness. So as light is the epitome of the Lord and His blessing, darkness
is the epitome of the enemy and his curses! Jude says it very clearly here:
Jude 1:6 "And the angels
which did not keep their first positions, but left their own dwelling place,
he has kept in everlasting chains under [control of] darkness until the
great day of judgment." (GMR)
Light vs. Dark:
Light,
Life
and Love
are used interchangeably in scripture to often mean the same thing.
Darkness, hate (Bitterness) and death are the opposite of these spiritual
forces. Darkness also speaks of walking in confusion and being blind. It
speaks of being in deception as in this passage:
1 John
2:11 "But he that hates his brother is in darkness, and walks in
darkness, and knows not where he goes, because that darkness has blinded his
eyes." (GMR)

DAUGHTER |
|
Definition For:
DREAMS |
In an internal dream, your daughter could speak of
those things you have borne in the spirit. In other words, they can speak of
your ministry. They could also speak of the positive forces of the spirit
i.e. faith, hope and love.
My daughters have always represented my love
and my faith in my dreams. Identify your relationship with your daughter and
you will discover what they represent in your dreams. Whether positive,
meaning the forces of the spirit, or negative, meaning the works of the
flesh, your children will be symbolic of the relationships you have with
them in real life. |
|
Definition For:
VISIONS |
|
If you see the daughter of someone you are ministering
with in vision, the Lord could be indicating that their daughter needs
ministry or that their daughter is directly involved in the problem they are
having, that you
are busy ministering to in them.
If you dream of giving birth to a daughter,
look up the words
Birth and Girl, as well.

DART |
|
Definition For:
DREAMS
AND VISIONS |
|
NEGATIVE...
The dart is very much like the dagger, in that it
speaks of deadly attack. The dart comes from the enemy and it destroys.
Darts usually contained poison, so although they were small weapons, the
poison on them is what caused the actual death. Darts to the heart can speak of
hurts inflicted by others in your past.
The poison of their rejection and infliction remains in
that heart and so the hurt remains within, unhealed, still spreading its
poison. Here is a passage that confirms that the dart speaks of death:
Proverbs 7:23
"Till a dart strikes through his liver; as a bird hurries to
the snare, and does not know that it [is] for his life." (GMR)
2 Samuel
18:14 "Then said Joab, I may not wait thus with you. And he took three
darts in his hand, and thrust them through the heart of Absalom, while he
[was] yet alive in the midst of the oak." (GMR)
Ephesians
6:16 "Above all, taking the shield of faith, with which you shall be able
to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one." (GMR)

DEATH |
|
Definition For:
DREAMS |
|
POSITIVE
and NEGATIVE...
Dreaming of dead bodies and coffins often refers to
things in your flesh that are being brought to death. Often it is your first
reaction to panic when you dream of someone dying, but this need not be so
at all! There have been times when I have dreamed that dead bodies kept
coming out a coffin! While that sounds like a gruesome dream, the
interpretation was actually that there were issues I had already died to in my life,
that I was allowing to resurrect again.
Here is a good example of what I am talking about:
Dream...
"My daughter who is 20, called me today. She is very
distressed about a dream that she had last night. She said that it was very
plain and vivid. Her brother who is 22 and certainly lives on the wild side
of life, was in this dream. She said that she was with him and he got shot in
the head and the stomach. She said that she went to him and put his head in
her lap and saw his face very plainly and a lot of blood. He told her that
it was going to be alright, and she said she watched his face turn
completely white, and he died. She then woke up and cried uncontrollably for
2 hours. What should I tell her?"
Interpretation...
"Firstly, tell
your daughter that the dream is clearly internal and
speaks of her. Her brother speaks of the flesh in her dream. There is a part
of her flesh that is being brought to death. It would seem that through the
brutality of the dream that this death will be a 'messy' one.
In fact, it is likely to be a leg-breaking experience
for her. Has there been a direction she has been kicking against? Has she
been going through pressures and not letting it go? If this is the case,
then let her know that there is an issue the Lord is dealing with in her and
that she needs to give it up to Him. This dream is indeed a warning one - but
for her - not for her brother!
The Lord is making it very clear that unless she lets
go and submits to the cross in her life, she will face a leg breaking and it
will not be very easy for her. Teach her to 'Die already!' ok? I would also
like to suggest that she close any doors to fear that she might have opened
by misunderstanding the meaning of this dream. We certainly do not want
Satan to have a foothold!
I trust this has help ease your fears a bit and given
some direction. Here is a good scripture that explains this process:"
1
Peter 3:18 "For Christ also has once suffered for sins, the just for the
unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but
quickened by the Spirit:" (GMR)
|
|
Definition For:
VISIONS |
POSITIVE...
The scriptures say that there will not be any more
death! It also speaks of old things passing away so that the new can be
born. It says in:
Revelation 21:4 "And God shall wipe away all tears from
their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying,
neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away." (GMR)
NEGATIVE...
There was a time when I saw the
angel of death when
praying for someone. The message was very clear: her life was about to be
taken. As we came against that spirit, she was restored to full health
again. Satan is the author of death and in the spirit, death is epitomized as
darkness, black and evil. David explain this oppression from the enemy very
clearly in:
Psalms 143:3 "For the enemy pursues my soul; he crushes the
life out of me; he keeps me in darkness, continually in a state of death." (GMR)

DEMONS |
|
It is common to see demons both in dreams and visions.
Seeing these beings indicates that you are functioning in the gift of
discerning of spirits. The Lord will reveal these things to you at His
bidding, but if you are having demonic manifestations or coming face to face
with demonic forces that you cannot control, realize that the enemy has been
given license in your life and you need to deal with it accordingly. |
|
Definition For:
DREAMS
AND VISIONS |
|
I often see demons in the spirit and for a more
detailed look on the different levels of demonic beings, I recommend the
Prophetic Warfare book by Les D. Crause. I will give you a quick summary
here of the different levels of demons and you can then relate it to what you
have experienced and seen in the spirit:
Ephesians 6:12
"For we wrestle not against flesh and
blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the
darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high [places]." (KJV)
1 Corinthians 2:8
"Which none of the princes of this
world knew: for had they known [it], they would not have crucified the Lord
of glory." (GMR)
What I share here is based on my personal experience.
You may see these demons in a different way, this is just a guideline for
you to follow and help you identify.
PRINCIPALITY
DEMONS:
These are usually your spirits of infirmities. I see
them in the spirit as insects, small crustaceans and so forth. I remember
one time really suffering with a pinched sciatic nerve on my left side. The
pain was unbearable, shooting from my hip and down my leg, sometimes even
making my leg feel lame. My husband Craig prayed for me and in the spirit he
saw what looked like a scorpion on the nerve, pinching it. After identifying the
spirit of infirmity, he told it to go and I felt an instant relief. The pain
and the condition cleared up and by the next day, I was walking around as if
nothing had happened.
By identifying the spirit of infirmity when praying for
someone, then telling it to leave, will often bring an immediate result. I
highly recommend these books -
The Way of Revival and Healing by Les D. Crause and
The
Way to Effective Prayer by Daphne Crause - to help you identify and overcome
physical attacks.
POWER
DEMONS:
These demons are a little stronger and what are
associated to things like depression, discouragement and deception. (See
'Snakes' for more on deception) They are what attack us in our day to day
walk. These are the demons that are also given the most license through
association with others and by contamination through family generations. We see these demons often like monkeys or gorillas.
Hanging on and attacking.
RULER
DEMONS:
These demons are stronger and look a bit more human in
the spirit. The ruler demons are occult in nature and if someone is
possessed, then there is a ruler demon involved. I often see an occult demon
as a broad shouldered, strong looking demon. Sometimes green or gray in color,
with a bald head and pointy ears. Some people see these spirits as your
typical "devil" (pointed ears, forked tongue) kind of creature. These demons
are given license through personal or generational sin involving,
witchcraft, false religions, free masonry, horoscopes, fortune telling and
so forth.
PRINCES:
The princes are very human in appearance and can even
be ‘good looking’ at times. These are the demons placed over an area such as
the Prince of Persia mentioned in the Word. Yes, there is a Prince of
America, Mexico, Africa and every other country, state and province of the
earth. They are given license through the sin and words of man.
I have seen the
prince of America as a half bull and
half man. Having the face of a man, but the horns of a bull. We have seen
the prince of Mexico as looking like a type of Indian chief, with a full
feather headdress on.
I have seen the
prince of death and he looks
like an emaciated black being. Thin and evil. I have seen the
prince of
lust. He is attractive, almost feminine in appearance and is dressed
lavishly in many different silks and colors. When I see this demon, I know
that the person I am ministering to is bound by lust.
These are just a few, but you should be able to
identify for yourself what you are coming against.
1 Corinthians 2:8
"Which none of the princes
of this world knew: for had they known [it], they would not have crucified
the Lord of glory." (GMR)
WICKEDNESS
IN HIGH PLACES:
The wickedness in high places refer to the three main
leaders of the demonic realm. The first being Lucifer who is in charge of
the religious system, second is Apollyon who is in charge of the world and the attack
on us directly and thirdly Pharaoh,
who is in charge of the world system and referred to as 'The God of This World'. Les D. Crause covers each of these and the foundation
of their existence in the Word, in the
Prophetic Warfare book, if you need a
deeper understanding.
Lucifer:
Isaiah 14:12
"How are you fallen from
heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! [how] are you cut down to the
ground, which weakened the nations!" (GMR)
Apollyon:
Revelation 9:11
"And they had a king
over them, [which is] the angel of the bottomless pit, whose name in the
Hebrew tongue [is] Abaddon, but in the Greek tongue has [his] name
Apollyon." (GMR)
Pharaoh (God of this world):
2 Corinthians
4:4 "In whom the god of this world has blinded the minds of those who
do not believe, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the
image of God, should shine into them." (GMR)
Please Note: If you are having encounters with
demons that are leading to actual physical experiences, this denotes an open
door in your life that is given Satan license to attack you! I recommend
that you get The Way of Blessing and
the Prophetic Warfare books by Les D. Crause as soon as possible and overcome this bondage in your life!

Door |
|
A gate, path, door or fence opening, all speak of either
a new direction in your life or one that has passed. I often see a door or
gate in the spirit when I am releasing someone into something new in their
lives. It often speaks of a new plan that the Lord has for them. Perhaps
someone has been believing the Lord for a new job or hoping to move house.
If I see an open door before them, it means that the way is clear before
them. If I see a closed door, it either means that we need to pray and open
the door, or that something is blocking them. The same refers to a path or
to a gate.
I might see a blockage in the road that needs removing,
or the Lord could be saying “not now, I have put this blockage here for a
reason”. Once again it takes a bit of discernment and a look at the person’s
current condition. Let’s look at a few typical scenarios here:
|
|
Definition For:
DREAMS
AND VISIONS |
POSITIVE...
I see a door, gate or a new path in the spirit most
often when I am releasing an individual into their ministry or releasing
them into something new. When I have imparted gifts or confirmed a calling
in a person’s life, then the Lord often shows me a new door that he has for
them. This door refers to a new plan, with a new set of circumstances. This
often also involves closing off the doors to the past. At this point the
Holy Spirit requires that they commit entirely to this new plan and allow
Him to ‘burn their bridges’ of the past and close all past doors.
Referring to a new direction for ministry:
1
Corinthians 16:8 "But I will stay on at Ephesus until Pentecost,
9 because a great door for effective work has
opened to me, and there are many who oppose me." (NIV)
2 Corinthians 2:12
"Now when I went to Troas to
preach the gospel of Christ and found that the Lord had opened a door
for me," (NIV)
If you see a closed door, then the Lord means for you
to open it in the spirit:
Revelation 3:8
"I know your deeds. See, I have
placed before you an open door that no one can shut. I know that you
have little strength, yet you have kept my word and have not denied my
name." (NIV)
NEGATIVE...
Most negative doors I see in the spirit refer to an
open door to the demonic realm. When I see an open door and darkness behind
it, or a demon coming out of it, I know that a person has an ‘open door’ in
their lives. In other words they have given the enemy license to mess in
their lives because of personal sin, generational sin or sin by association.
In this situation, I do NOT close this door on the person's behalf. It is vital to remember
that you cannot forgive sins that are unto death. In other words, if the
person in question opened the door, then it is up to THEM to repent and shut
it. Once again Les D. Crause covers this extensively in the
Prophetic
Warfare and The Way of Blessing
books.
In a nutshell,
the person must apply these three steps:
James 4:7
"Submit yourselves
therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you." (GMR)
1. Submit to the Lord.
2. Confess your sin
3. Then close
that door and tell Satan to leave!
Speaking of walking a life of sin (thus giving the
enemy license in your life):
Proverbs 4:14
"Enter not into the path
of the wicked, and do not walk in the way of evil [men]." (GMR)
In reference to giving license to the enemy:
Ephesians 4:26
"Be angry, but do not sin: do not let the sun set on your
anger:
27 Neither give licence to the devil.
28 Let him stole stop stealing: but rather let him be working hard, earning
through working with [his] hands good things, that he may have something to
give to those who lack.
29 Let no rotten words proceed out of your mouth, but those which are
beneficial in being used for the purpose of building up, that it may impart
grace to the hearers.
30 And do not grieve the holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed until
the day of redemption.
31 Let all bitterness, and explosive anger, and boiling anger, and violent
argument, and slander, be put away from you, with all malice:
32 And be kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as
God for Christ's sake has forgiven you." (GMR)
